Jess Joppen (3T2) represented Dorenweerd College at the National Finals for the Junior Speaking Contest during the WAO week. There were 16 finalists from 86 TTO schools. The finalists gave a 4.5- minute speech and responded to questions from the jury. The theme for this year’s contest was “What Makes the World Go Round”.  Dorenweerd is very proud of Jess and her accomplishments.

Dorenweerd has a winner! Jess Joppen 3T2 won the regional finals for the TTO Junior Speaking Contest last Friday at Metameer College. Her speech, entitled “Other Worlds”, talked about how everyone’s individual worlds intertwining make the world go round. Jess will participate in the Grand Finals in April.

Every year, TTO 3 students participate in the Junior Speaking Contest sponsored by  Nuffic Organization for Bilingual Schools in the Netherlands.  This year, Andre, Lois, Milou, Jan Willem, Niek, and Jess competed in the Finals at Dorenweerd College. The students spoke for 2-3 minutes on the theme: What Makes the World Go Round.  The speeches were lively, creative, and well delivered.  Jess Joppen won the competition and will represent Dorenweerd College at the Regional Junior Speaking Contest on Friday, February 22nd at Metameer College.
